Once the crenellated wall
crossed, such the surrounding wall of a Kasbah, the view
of the vast sported park in which seats Maroc Lodge,
fills the guests with a feeling of peace and
tranquillity.

In addition to its
centenaries olive trees, the park also has a wide
variety of other trees: almond, walnut, pomegranate,
carob, lemon and orange trees and many other local
species used for utilitarian or ornamental purposes
adorn the estate.

A ‘Seguia’ (a small canal
used for irrigation) runs through the estate and is fed
by a natural spring which rises higher up in the
mountain. It is edged with aromatic plants such as
Sarsaparilla and there are a number of small wooden
bridges which allow guests to cross the canal. Visiting
the spring would make for a lovely walk.

The estate and the lodges
work together in harmony to afford the guests a feeling
of serenity. Flagstone walks wind through the park and
visitors will be able to see many local species of birds
which come to enjoy the shade of the trees. At the end
of a hot summer day the swimming pool, which overflows
into the valley, is a perfect observation point.

Birdsong can be heard
everywhere. Amongst the many species that can be seen in
the park the magnificent and brightly coloured "Roller"
and the beautiful "Bee Eater" are perhaps worthy of
special mention.
This enchanting sun kissed environment makes Maroc Lodge
a true eco-lodge where you can enjoy nature to the full.
